The first thing we need to do to prevent sexual harassment and gendered violence in the workplace is to know what it is. In recent years there has been a lot more awareness of sexual harassment. This seems to have confused some people. Is flirting sexual harassment? Is asking someone out not OK? Can we not make jokes anymore?
During this 2 hours workshop participants will learn:
- Understand the difference between sexual harassment and gendered violence
- understand the current laws around sexual harassment and gendered violence
- Know when to sport Sexual harassment and gendered violence and learn how to take action
- Obligations of the employers and employees to prevent sexual harassment
- Bystander intervention as a prevention strategy
This workshop will also cover domestic violence and how employers play a critical role in supporting victims of domestic violence.
